Grief & Loss Counseling for Parkland, FL
Serving All Residents of Florida

Every person experiences grief. It is a normal response to a sudden loss or tragedy. Unfortunately, some losses are more difficult to cope with than others. Oftentimes, grief can be really overwhelming and incredibly painful. The death of a loved one can cause a great deal of grief. Trying to adjust to a new reality is difficult enough but mourning and missing someone who is no longer with us can sometimes feel unbearable.
You may also be grieving the loss or end of something: a significant friendship or romantic relationship (including a breakup or divorce), important job or role, or even a home. Many experiences can cause us to battle with grief, and it is important to understand that grief is a process that is not linear – it can look different for every individual.
It is extremely important to have support when you are grieving. This is why grief and bereavement counseling, in particular, is extremely important to a grieving person. Grief encompasses many emotions, and some may be felt more strongly than others.
Ready to Thrive Again?
According to psychiatrist, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, there are 5 stages of grief – and if you feel that you are grieving the loss of something, you may have already experienced one or more of these stages, either once or at multiple times:
- Denial
- Anger
- Bargaining
- Depression
- Acceptance
It’s important to note that these stages, again, are not linear; therefore, you may experience them in a different order, all at once, or even not at all.
