About Dr. Lindsay Howard, Parkland, FL Psychologist

Hi! My name is Lindsay Howard, and I am a clinical psychologist with an extensive background in the field.

I started working with clients in a clinic during my second semester of graduate school, being supervised by licensed psychologists. I have been involved in conducting psychotherapy and psychological testing since 2007. I graduated with my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in August of 2012, completed my residency in 2013, and became licensed in 2014.

"Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.”

–C.G. Jung, World-Renowned Psychoanalyst

Being a psychologist has meant significantly helping people improve their lives.

I can’t think of a better way to live my life than helping others. Helping people overcome their challenges and knowing that I provided something good in my little part of the world is extremely fulfilling.

My favorite part of what I do is the authenticity that comes with a therapeutic relationship – really feeling connected to people and feeling humbled and honored to be a part of their journey through life.

Being a therapist is amazing, because every day I get to have meaningful, sometimes life-changing, one-to-one conversations with people about what really matters to them.

I enjoy my profession because I am able to help other people improve the quality of their lives. It is truly an honor and a pleasure when an individual invites me on their life journey. They tell me things that they have never told anyone before. They let me see the parts of them that others are rarely allowed to see. They trust me with the most vulnerable, intimate parts of themselves and they allow me to work with them to resolve whatever is going on.

Sunset at the ocean, About Dr. Lindsay Howard, Parkland, FL

My philosophy is to teach people the tools and skills they need so that they can move forward in life and no longer need my services.

And hey… if you’re going through a rough patch two years from now, call me. Gone are the days of Dr. Freud – where you are in therapy for the rest of your life. This is simply unrealistic to me. My goal is to teach you adaptive coping skills to use independently throughout your life, so that you no longer need my services.

I am not your typical therapist:

I engage my clients in dialogue (I do not sit there and say “hmm hmm.”)
My clients describe me as warm, personable, and friendly
I am authentic, so my language at times can be as colorful and expressive as your own

Overall, I am definitely 100% client-centered in my approach. I am not a confrontational therapist. Depending on what my client’s presenting problem is, I will utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, or Interpersonal Therapy.

I meet people where they are at. WE will work together, as a team, to meet your goals.

Therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” solution. I believe your therapy needs to be as personal to you as your challenges are. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet your unique needs.
